Setting Up Google Workspace SSO

Setting up Google Workspace SSO for the Giftsenda platform allows your team to log in securely using their existing Google credentials. This simplifies user management and enhances security by centralizing authentication. The following steps will guide you through connecting and configuring SSO for a seamless login experience.

1. Sign in with a super administrator account to the Google Admin console. If you aren’t using a super administrator account, you can’t complete these steps.
2. Go to Apps > Web and mobile apps.
3. Click Add App > Add custom SAML app. Enter the app name and, optionally, upload an icon for your app. The app icon appears on the Web and mobile apps list, on the app settings page, and in the app launcher. If you don't upload an icon, an icon is created using the first two letters of the app name. Click Continue.
4. On the Google Identity Provider details page, you will need to copy the setup information and send it to Giftsenda team via email. Please include this information in your email:
   1. SSO URL
   2. Entity ID
   3. Certificate (download from Google and attach to the email)
5. Once the email is sent, click Continue.
6. In the Service Provider Details window, enter:
   • ACS URL: https://app.giftsenda.com/saml2/okta/acs
   • Entity ID: https://app.giftsenda.com/saml2/okta/metadata
   • Name ID: EMAIL
7. Click Continue.
8. Click Add mapping to map user attributes based on the service provider’s requirements.
9. For Google Directory attributes, click the Select field menu to choose a field name. For App attributes, enter the values from below:
   • Primary email > email
   • First name > first_name
   • Last name  > last_name
10. Click Finish. 

Next Steps

Wait till Giftsenda team will complete the SSO connection using the information you have provided on Step 4. Usually it takes 24 hrs to respond.
